Data Catalog

Brain Knowledge Platform's Data Catalog offers access to a wide range of projects & data collections. Find relevant-to-you datasets to accelerate your research. Filter and search by species, modality, technique, author, specimen type, and more.

Scientific Programs

In addition to data from the Allen Institute, Brain Knowledge Platform includes datasets from several major neuroscience consortia and initiatives.

BRAIN Initiative Cell Atlas Network (BICAN)

The BRAIN Initiative® Cell Atlas Network (BICAN) is a collaborative effort uniting neuroscientists, computational biologists, and software engineers, to create a comprehensive atlas of the human brain. Supported by the U.S. BRAIN Initiative, BICAN awardees are dedicated to transforming our understanding of the brain by gathering and sharing new data that allows us to discover the basic components of the brain, detailing the vast array of neurons and non-neuronal cells across multiple species in adult and in development with an emphasis on how this informs our understanding of the human brain.

BRAIN Cell Census Network (BICCN)

From 2017 to 2022, NIH’s BRAIN (Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies) Initiative Cell Census Network (BICCN) generated a comprehensive reference of the diverse cell types in human, mouse, and non-human primate brain. Its continued by the BRAIN Initiative® Cell Atlas Network (BICAN).

Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s (ASAP)

The Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s (ASAP) initiative, managed by the Coalition for Aligning Science and implemented in partnership with The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, accelerates Parkinson’s disease research through collaboration, research-enabling resources, and data sharing. The ASAP Collaborative Research Network (CRN) unites global teams to tackle high-priority research questions, with all ASAP-funded data, code, and protocols shared across a variety of platforms including the CRN Cloud, DANDI, CatalystNeuro, Zenodo, GitHub, and protocols.io.
